Tales from Quarantine is a podcast I hosted and produced during the lockdown when I was stuck in Italy. In each of the episodes, I talk to inspiring people about different topics, from animal rights to sustainability, from art conservation to gender biases, and everything in the middle. All the episodes are in Italian.

A little intro to Tales from Quarantine by me :)

Max has been a rider for Deliveroo for over 3 years. We talked about what he likes about his job, what should be improved, and what's going on these days with the riders who are still working in locked-down Milano. Enjoy!

In this episode, I talk to my anthropologist friend Valeria Borsotti about the importance of gender and racial equality in computer science. Algorithms keep fucking up your life? Learn some of the possible reasons from Valeria :) In this episode, we are also launching a call to action that I’m totally gonna spoil in this caption! During our quarantine, we can all help Wikimedia Italia with the initiative Wikigap by adding and editing biographies of women, non-binary, and underrepresented people to Wikipedia. Learn how by listening to this episode!

My guest on this episode is Massimo Temporelli, president and co-founder of The FabLab, physicist, anthropologist, writer, entrepreneur, and speaker. Massimo and his partners created something incredible to help COVID-19 patients: they have turned a Decathlon snorkeling mask into a life support machine! Listen to this amazing story and if you are a maker you might be able to help hospitals too by 3D printing some of the junctions! Please follow Massimo on Instagram for the latest news about this initiative :)

This episode’s guest is Gaia Segattini, fashion designer, Made in Italy advocate, sustainability queen, and creator of Gaia Segattini Knotwear. We talked about how the emergency is changing craftsmanship and small businesses’ online practices and how to stay productive in quarantine. Enjoy!

In this episode, I talk to Mauro Gatti, illustrator, game designer, creative director, Emmy winner, all around creative person. Mauro is the creative force behind The Happy Broadcast, a counter-hate and fear project that features positive news from around the world. Positive news is always needed especially right now! Listen to the podcast to learn more about Mauro's awesome project and the inspiration behind it. Don't forget to check out @the_happy_broadcast on Instagram.

My guest on this episode of Tales from Quarantine is Clara, a geographer and human rights activist. She's one of the young Milanese volunteers who started Brigate Volontarie Per l'Emergenza at the beginning of the lockdown: 9 brigades - one for each district of Milan - that go grocery shopping for the elderly and the sick, deliver meds, and offer psychological support to everyone in need. They are trained by Emergency and part of Milano Aiuta, a service provided by the City of Milano. The phone number to call to use this service is 020202. Enjoy!

Ep. 7 of Tales from Quarantine is with Matteo Cupi, executive director of Animal Equality Italy. We talked about his personal story and his mission to end factory farming. Matteo and Animal Equality have launched an international campaign to permanently ban all wet markets worldwide. For animals, wet markets are hell on Earth. For humans, they are incubators of novel diseases and a threat to our health and safety. SARS - a coronavirus - started in a wet market in China in 2003, and - scientists said - one of Wuhan's wet markets is the possible origin of COVID-19. Listen to the podcast to learn more about wet markets, Animal Equality, and the #BanWetMarkets campaign.

I'm super happy to have Elisabetta Covizzi as my guest today! She is an amazing art conservator who is currently in Los Angeles working - among many other museums and institutions - for the Getty Museum and LACMA. Betta will share with us the truly incredible story of Sam Rodia and the Watts Towers. Enjoy!

Today my guest is Andrea Conte, AKA Andreco, scientist, environmental engineer PhD specializing in sustainability, and visual artist. Since 2015 Andrea has been working on the Climate Art Project, a traveling art project - designed to fight climate change and based on his research on Nature-Based Solutions - that took him all over the world. We talked about his artistic work, the power of plants, and much more!
